Bee-utiful...

I couldn't resist! When Clear Dollar Stamps put out the September Guest Designer Challenge, I knew I had to use their recently released Everyday Jar-gon set! This is just the most adorable set...with the jar, and various things to fill it with and sentiments to match!
I needed a Get Well card, so I went with the bees. If you click the pic, you can see the honeycomb embossing on the yellow circle. It was done using Fiskars Embossing plates and the Cuttlebug. I stamped the jar, lid and bees with black StazOn, and watercolored them. The little wings are colored with glitter pen to make them sparkle. I did the same with the BG paper. I couldn't resist using the little Bee button on the sentiment...it just fit there so perfectly. I took a liberty and put a little corner punch in to even things out. This was actually a fun sketch to do! Be sure to check out Clear Dollar Stamps as they have this set on sale thru Monday for 30% off! You will love it as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a super week!

A Stamptacular Challenge

I am home with the flu again today, so I got to do some stamping! I do not recommend the flu for a day off work, though..LOL!
Today I made my card for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #21. The challenge was to use 3D on your card, and of course, stamping. I went to my all time favorite SU set, Best Blossoms. I will NEVER part with this set...I can do anything and everything with it! I made it a 5 x 5 card because I am really liking how I can arrange things on the square lately! This was very simply layered with white Cuttlebugged panels and Pretty In Pink cardstock. The flowers were stamped on a white panel along with the leaves, and then stamped again on another piece of white and cut out. I laid the cut outs over the stamped images and then added stickles to the flower centers. This was really as quickly made card, but it has lots of dimension. I didn't need it for any particular reason, so I left the sentiment off, but when I use it, I will place a sentiment below the flower panel.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday! I am off to take a little happy nappy, and then make some more challenge cards! Please be sure to sign up for my Blogoversary Candy! Thanks so much for stopping by...see you soon!

Almost TOO Late

I made this card for this past weeks Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. The challenge was to make a project with a Bear. I just love this little gal...the inside says "Housework is something you do that no one notices...'til you DON'T do it!"
True, eh? This is a BAD picture...I will get a better one in the sunlight tomorrow. I have been working on this all week....actually, I made it last Monday....just put the corners and flower on tonight so I could get it posted...LOL! Have a great night, and thanks for stopping by!

A Polished Magnolia

This is a Polished Stone Background Card that I made for a swap. One of my partners is a very special friend, so I wanted a special card.
First I did the BG with Pretty In Pink, Old Olive and Certainly Celery. I love how it turned out with the greens more muted and the pink POP!
I had yet to ink up this Tilda, other than to send images, so I wanted to use her. She is such a cutie-patootie and I just LOVE any Tilda with wings! I colored her with watercolors, glittered her wings, and cut her with my scalloped circle Nesties. Then sponged the scallops with Old Olive. Next I cut the Old Olive and Pretty In Pink CS with the Lables 3 Nesties. Oh goodness, I want ALL the Lables Nesties....maybe someday. I just layered everything and added the gorgeous paper rosebuds and leaves, and voila....it was done. She got the card today and liked it, so that makes me totally HAPPY!
It has been a HORRIBLE week at work! I will get used to it...soon I hope. I have NO energy to even put rubber to ink this week...and I miss it!
Oh we got GREAT news! My mother has been contacted by the University of Iowa to participate in a Clinical Study for patients with severe Emphezema. I hope she gets the real thing and not the placebo, but if she does, after 6 months, they will offer her another option. It is called an IBV Valve Trial. It is really COOL so please say a prayer for her....
Thanks so much for stopping by! I will have some new things this weekend, I promise! ALSO, next week is my Blogoversary, so there will be candy SOON!! Have a great day tomorrow!

A Challenging Card

Well, I got a couple of cards made today before heading off to the lake for the day. This one started with the Friday Sketchers Challenge. I thought this would be a super sketch for this Tilda. Since I used one of my sweet Magnolias, it qualifies for the Just Magnolia Challenge which was to make a card for a friend. I had this little Tilda already colored, so I went ahead and used her for the Crafty Creations Challenge. They made the challenge to use lots of Yellow!
I am happy with it, and it is going to a friend at work who has a Birthday next week. I start back to work tomorrow...yes, I am crying! It has been a great Summer! Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes to my Mom. Please keep her in your prayers, as God is her only hope!
When I know more, I will let you all know what the scoop is. Just know I am back on Chantix and I WILL quit smoking this time! ( say a prayer for me, too!)
Thanks for stopping by and have a FABBY week!!

Finally a Card.....

Yeah, it has been a while since I have posted. I have been cardmaking, but some things I can't post until they reach their destinations. It kills me...LOL. This is one I made for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #14. Great sketch, and versetile to boot! I just love this little Tilda, her flower halo reminds me of one my daughter wore for my sister's wedding 13 years ago. Yeah, she was an angel...THEN!

I am working on a few more challenges this weekend, so I will be back. I got some not so great news about my Mom this week, so if I am not around ( like disappear) that is probably why. I just hate being 700 miles away...

I hope everyone has a great weekend...see you again SOON! Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Daughter Did This~

I just love it when my DD sits at my desk and creates. She has been thinking about my Mom the past few days, and decided to send her a card.
Shelli loves the 5th Ave. Floral set, so she wanted to use the rose on Grandma's card. I am just so proud of her, she did her first watercoloring on the rose, and chose the colors herself. I guess she HAS been paying attention. No, this isn't her first card, she has made some gorgeous ones in the past, but I was extra thrilled with this because she just DID it!
Sorry to drone on and one...I am just a proud Momma! I will be back soon with something new . Have a FABBY day and thanks for stopping by!

Snowflakes and some Challenges

It is SMOTHERING HOT out there today, so I stayed in and played with some challenges. The first one is from The Cuttlebug Spot, which was to use your favorited embossing folder. I just LOVE this snowflake folder, so another Christmas Card it is...LOL!
The next challenge is at Christmas Stamping All Year Long , which is a really cool sketch using embossing and PP. The next 2 are Daring Card Makers and Creative Inspiration, which both challenged you to use lots of BLING! I love bling, so that was really not TOO big of a challenge.
This card went together fairly quickly. The Snowflake is cut on the Silhouette, and the scalloped circles with my nesties and CB. I got to use a scrap of PP, which is always wonderful, and a nice piece of wide satin ribbon. The bling is Stickles on the snowflake and Prismal Glitter on the nestie. I like the simplistic yet "pretty" way this turned out, so I am sure it will be reproduced with other PPs for mailing. I hope you all have a great day...Thanks for stopping by!

A Couple of Clean & Simples

OK I lost my first post, so I am praying that this one takes! These are a couple of cards I made using ideas and a sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping Blog. The first is a C&S Fall-to-Layout, and there is a new one each week. This one is FTL #53. I don't have any really LARGE stamps, so I used SU Big Blossoms, which is retired. That is stamped in Pretty In Pink, and the sentiment, from Warmest Regards, is stamped in Green Galore. I colored the flower center with Green Galore reinker and an aqua pen, then covered it with Crystal Effects. Layered the design onto GG cardstock, and voila, a 10 minute card!

The next one is another from C&S, and was a featured 10-minute Monday Card. I had already made the flower and leaves, which are digi-stamps from Fred She Said. Since the hard part was done, all I had to do was cut the papers and assemble. This one only took about 10 minutes, also, and will be done again I am sure. The flowered PP was a scrap, and when I can use up scraps, that is a GOOD thing....LOL!
I worked today, so I am BEAT! NO, school isn't back in session, I just went in to help the new manager set up the kitchen. We go back on the 13th of August, so I got a taste of how I will be feeing in a week or so...LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by! I have some more to share tomorrow~

Final Chrismas In July Challenges....

I have really had alot of fun doing the Christmas In July Card Challenges! This one is for The CuttleBug Spot Challenge #41. I just LOVE my Snowflakes CB Embossing Folder, so this was a great chance to use it! The cute snowman is, of course, Dustin Pike digistamp. All of the Christmas cards I have made so far this year have included his work, so I think I will make them ALL that way. The second challenge I use was Christmas Stamping All Year Long . Their challenge was to use a snowman...got it! My final challenge is Dawny's Sketch #20 at Papertake Weekly. It works so perfectly with the snowman and snowflakes, I just HAD to use it! Can you tell I enjoyed this? hehehe
Well, I am off for the evening. I have to take my DD to the school for a test at 8 a.m., so my bed is calling. Thanks so much for stopping by!
