Come and Get It NOT a card....

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, we are having an Anything BUT A Card Challenge. I did a Mini Pizza Box for a Large Chocolate Chip Cookie. The instructions for the Mini Pizza Box can be found HERE.
I will send this little box to my daughter along with some other goodies for Valentine's Day. She loves to get goodies from home in her mailbox at college.
It is a super simple design, made with a single sheet of DP. I added the Greeting Card Kid Valentine Girl, colored with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush. Finished her off with the roses, leaf die and pink gems...

Shell has challenged everyone to try the Faux Tile Technique...I have never done this one, so it was fun to give it a try! I used Elements of Style and colored it with Old Olive, YoYo Yellow and Cameo Coral.

Little Soldier Birthday

Happy Sunday!! This week at Come and Get It Challenges, I am the hostess and have chosen a great color challenge. As you can see, it is Dark Brown, Light Brown and Light Blue. I just love this little guy from Bugaboo Stamps. I got him as a Friday Freebie ( they have a different one every Friday, so be sure to check them out) but he is available for purchase if you can't resist! I used my watercolor crayons to color him in, then layered him up with matching CS and DP.

Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving! Today my card originated with the 3D images a friend sent me LONG AGO!! I got them cut and foam taped... LOL. When I got then done, I wanted to get them on cards, because I am notorious for making images and then putting them in the "someday" box. I found a WONDERFUL sketch over at A La Card Monkey on Friday. Bingo, perfect! I chose some CS that matched perfectly, and then died the ribbon with Real Red ink refiller. Then sentiment I made on my computer...LOL! This card can be entered into The Paper Sundaes Challenge and Crafting When We Can Challenge, as well.

Bronson Cute Christmas

OK gonna try this again, and see if I can get it posted rather than deleting it...LOL!
Happy Tuesday, Everyone! I have been working on Christmas cards recently, and I just HAD to use this cute little Bronson and Beaker Skating Digi from Pollycraft. Aren't they adorable? I chose the sketch at Christmas Challenges ...it gave me freedom to use the DPs I wanted to use with the image. The DP's are from My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas, and the image is water colored, of course...LOL! The sky background is sponged on, and the sparkle is done with Stickles. I used blue glitter paper for the pretty snowflakes.

Cardinal Sketch

I have been wanting to use up some of the images I have colored, and this is the first I chose. I just LOVE this cardinal, so it was the inspiration for choosing the Sunday Sketch and Stamp sketch. I had the Cardinal cut in an oval, so it worked perfectly. The image is colored with reinkers, and the DPs are retired SU.

Cracked Glass

Happy Sunday! This week at Come and Get It Challenges , we are challenging everyone to try the Cracked Glass Technique. I haven't done this in SO LONG, it was fun to revisit it! There is a great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers that explains exactly how to achieve this great look. It shows in the tut to use UTEE, but I just did several layers of regular clear embossing powder and it worked just perfectly! I hope you will all come and play along, too!

The Falling Leaves....

This week over at Come And Get It Challenges, I get to host a Color Challenge. With Fall on its way ( it officially begins September 23rd) I thought it would be fun to use some Fall Colors!
I chose Red, Brown and Orange, but any Fall colors work as long as those 3 are included!

My Dear Friend, Cindy, is a Guest Designer over at A La Card Monkey Challenges, and I told her I was gonna play along, too~ Well, I made this card last night, and almost forgot to post it! The Challenge is to use the sketch and make a card that looks like Autumn. I had this Pumpkin Digi from McMahon 5 all colored up, so I used it to do this challenge.

A Special Friend

This week at The Friday Mash Up they have a great sketch, and embossing challenge. You can do one or the other, but I went ahead and did both~
I dug out a much neglected stamp set, SU's Bold Blossoms, and had at it! The large flowers are a punch and the sentiment is a digi with the small flower from the set stamped in the center. I love this melon mambo and glorious green color combo~

A Little Stained Glass Technique

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, we are challenging everyone to try the Stained Glass Technique. Shell has posted a great tutorial for this technique from Splitcoast Stampers and you can find that HERE. There are others out there, as well, so if you don't want to use this one, just Google it...you will find more!
I did mine on white vellum stamped with White Kraft Ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. This for me, was the hardest part...I am NOT a good wet embosser on vellum...LOL! Then I flipped my image over and colored in the flowers with markers...there is a little shading that isn't very noticeable in the photo unless you enlarge it. Since the edge of the image is colored, I have no problem adhering the image to white cardstock and cutting it out. Then just finished it off with the die cut corners and an embossed sentiment.

I originally thought of going Christmas with this color combo, but decided to go just a little bit Asian. I had a blast doing the DP up with VersaMark and SU Irridescent Ice EP! I will be doing this more often, I am sure~

Another Fall Birthday Card

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, Cindy set the challenge to make Fall/Autumn Birthday cards or projects. My first attempt was with this tree, but I failed the layout miserably, so I went another direction. I just LOVED the look of the tree, so I saved it so I could actually create something with it. This is the result. The Big Oak is from SU's Lovely As A Tree set. I stamped it with StazOn and then colored it with SU re-inkers and the aquabrush. The DP is leftover from the previous card posted, and the sentiment is again, SU. Sure wish I had accomplished this one first...LOL!

Autumn Birthday

Yes, it is 103 degrees out there today, but Autumn is just around the corner, so the challenge today at Come and Get It Challenges is to create a card or project for an Autumn Birthday.
My Mojo has been shot, so I dug out my All Seasons II paper pack by The Paper Studio, and went to one of my Fave Sketches with it. It is super simple and looks great every time! I took a brown button, some Raffia, and the silk leaves and made the little embellie. The sentiment is from SU Birthday Whimsey. Handmade Flowers

This week over at Come and Get It Challenges, our challenge is to MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWER(S). This flower is one I have made a few of in the past ( I tried a 2 inch paper rose, but it was just TOO big for a card) so thought I would go with it. I did the flower using printer paper and cut 10 layers with my scalloped circle Nesties. Crumpled it all up, then laid them out and brayered each piece with Pink Passion. When they were dry, punched a hole in the center, added a brad to keep them together, then just puffed if up. This card was SUPER easy, as it is just a Hot Pink base card with a sheet of DP from DCWV's Blossoms and Butterflies Stack. I added Stickles to the flourishes and some MS Butterfly punches, and it was done.

Kick Up Your Heels....

We all know how much I love ( cough ) to make men's cards....well this one was made for a friend of mine for his birthday. He is an Okie, so I thought the Cowboy Boot was just perfect! I watercolored the boot ( go figure) and cut it out so I could put it where I wanted. The Star border is little punches that I glued along the paper line...it needed something and ribbon wasn't it! The sentiment was computer generated which works perfectly when you need to totally personalize a card! He really liked it, so I was thrilled~

Oy I am BAD....

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, we have a Color Challenge using Light Blue, Light Pink, and Light Green. This little Tilda is my DT card for this week. Yes, I am BAD, I should have posted it on Sunday when the challenge went up, and I really have no good excuse. I apologize to everyone for my tardiness.
I used Midsummer Tilda with StazOn and then watercolored her. The embossing folder is made by Cuttlebug, and I cut the ovals with Nesties. I added the flowers and charm, and was done. Quick and easy, then pretty, too!

Driving Me Quackers

I have been fighting my Mojo lately and it is making me NUTS! My great friend, Cindy, is always such a sweetie and gives me encouragement to get back at it. I got into a couple swaps, which I haven't done in a LONG LONG time, ( since my mom passed) and was forced to make a couple cards. This is one of them. I think he turned out adorable, and when Cindy said she liked it, I was THRILLED!
This little guy is part of a set called Cute Critters by Clear Dollar Stamps. The footprints on the DP is also one of the stamps in the set...kinda cute, eh? I will be sending this off tomorrow and will enter it in the following challenges:

Gimme a Little Kiss

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, we are doing a Technique Challenge....KISSING! No, not smooching with your lips ( though, that is FUN, too) but kissing with your stamps! HERE is a fantastic Tutorial done by Splitcoast Stampers, and Leslie has one posted on the Come and Get It Blog, as well.
I used Stampin' Up's Best Blossom set, inked with Pretty in Pink, then kissed it with a swirl inked with Melon Mambo. To be honest, I have never done this technique, and once I found a set I could use ( I figured I have over 3000 stamps, and VERY few solid ones...geesh) it was SO FUN! I LOVE the look, and will be doing it again, I am sure!

My friend, Cindy, and I were talking last night about card making styles. We do a lot of discussing, and I LOVE it! Well, after talking with her, I saw a card I just LOVED, and decided I would have a go at something similar. This is the result.
I dug out my old Big Blossom stamp, and some flourishes, and had at it! I decided to use a color I don't use very often - green. I was thrilled I got to dig a couple of my very UNUSED punches out for this one, too! Geesh, so much stuff, so little time~

Special Birthday

I have been trying to figure out something special for my Grandmother's 90th Birthday card. This one is pretty, but I don't think it is THE one yet....

I used the Sketch over at Stamping 411. Those that know me are aware that one of my favorite colors is yellow, thus the Summer Sun. I used one of my ALL time favorite SU sets, Natural Beauty, which is long retired, but still goreous! I sponged the Ballet Blue onto the outside of the circle then stamped and watercolored the leaves with Old Olive reinker. The flowers are also colored with reinkers and cut out for a 3D effect. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Challenging Color Challenge

This week at Come and Get It Challenges, I am hosting a Color Challenge. The colors are Peach, Mint or Light Green and Olive Green. When I chose this combo, I thought it would be very easy to create a card with it. OHHHH, was I wrong. I didn't realize I have NO PEACH INK! ( That will change as I will be getting some of SU's Peach Parfait~) I decided I needed to find something in peach besides my cardstock, so I went on a hunt. I had a few gorgeous DP, but the greens weren't right, so I thought I would just make my own flowers. I wasn't loving the punched flowers, and remembered the link Cindy gave me for Roses made with 5 petal flower punches. You can find it HERE. Oh my goodness, I just LOVE how they came out! I faked the rosebud, but I think it works, what do you think?

Happy Easter! CAGI Sketch Challenge~

Today I am hostessing the Sketch Challenge at Come and Get It Challenges. This is my take on the sketch. I used the rose from SU 5th Ave. Florals and layered it for some dimension. The second and fourth layers are glitter paper, but due to bad lighting ( we have had rain and gloom here for an entire week) you can't see the sparkle~

Pretty In Pink

I am so tired of being sick and tired...LOL! This card is one that Cindy and I decided to make the other day for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge with a twist!~ The twist was to use a "winged" thing, and as most know, I LOVE butterflies, so this beauty came out. It has been FOREVER since I have used 4 DP on the same card, so this was really a lot of fun. The DP's are all retired SU, and the butterfly is a retired Angel Company stamp. Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone, so I had to add some bling.... Love this sketch, and you will see it again in the future, I am sure!

Rainy Days

I just love this little Tilda~ her umbrella is just so cute! As I was scoping Challenges this week for some inspiration, there are about a bazillion challenges for April Showers out there. Well, I haven't used Tilda In Spring Rain for ages, so it was time to get her out and ink her up!

I colored her with Prisma Watercolor pencils and AquaBrush. Originally, I did her in purple, but decided I have been pretty obsessed with purple lately, so Cindy suggested yellow and orange...I am NOT an orange person, but, I LOVE how it came out!

Here is my submission for the Hop! I used this adorable digital stamp named Clementine by StampFairy.com. I just LOVE those floppy ears. She is colored with Watercolors and Markers, then Sponged on the background and added the little finishes. I did her on lavendar....can ya tell I LOVE purples...hehehehe!

A Little Sunshine

Another Challenge with the Girls

Well, trouble can ensue when Cindy, Leslie and I start chatting...LOL. A couple nights ago, we were all chatting and decided to do some challenges together, and lastnight was the same scenerio. We chose the Color Challenge at Just Add Ink which was to use Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Crumb Cake.I just ADORE this color combo, though the Crumb Cake was a bit hard to work in there, but I managed it! The Sketch Challenge we decided on is the one at 4 Crafty Chicks. Simple with ALOT of possibilities!

Color Q and Friends

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL St. Patrick's Day! I got a little boo-boo at work, so I was home with my foot elevated, but all is well. Just no celebrating for me...oh well!

This card is one made for a "group" challenge with a couple friends. Cindy , Leslie and I were all chatting the other night, and decided we would all do the Color Q challenge. This week the challenge is to use Daffodil Delight, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Early Expresso, and white. ( I didn't have Early Expresso, so I used Chocolate Chip) I used Stampin' Up's Pocket Sillouettes, and some retired SU DP's.

Glittery Spring

Today I did a little playing with Glitter....I am in a Glitter Swap, and I think this fits the bill! My friend, Cindy, sent me this set - Fresh Cuts by Stampin' Up, and I hadn't used it on a card yet, so I thought it would work for this little project.

I used the Sketch from Fussy and Fancy , and flipped it on it's side so the image would work.

Blue Christmas in March

Silly groundhog! We had a week of 60's and 70's last week, and the weekend has been COLD again! What is up with that?

Anyhoooo, I wanted to make something springy, and there are TONS of challenges out there this week for SPRING cards ( I think the world has Spring fever) so I can add this little beauty to those challenges. Love Letters

How cute is she? I picked up this adorable digi at Designed2Delight Digi Stamps. I saw her on a challenge site all made up into a card, and just FELL IN LOVE! Her name is Kaela and she comes with the mailbox and a heart-shaped candy valentine box. Great deal! Please be sure to check out this digi shop... I bet you find some cuties, too!

Anyhooooo...I wanted a Valentine I could send my Daughter in college, so I HAD to use this little sweetie right away! I colored her with Prismacolor watercolor pencils and cut her out. Did the same with the mailbox, and then decided I wanted it cut out with an oval....kinda worked out cute. The DPs are retired from Stampin' Up, and the colors worked out perfectly. I LOVE how their papers all mix and match...

Zebra Love

Funny how this card came about...and I actually LIKE it...LOL!~ I walked by my creating table the other night, and this piece of zebra print PP was laying on it. We had company, so I was sitting and visiting, and just had this idea for a cutesy Valentine card. The Zebra is from an old TAC set called Wild For You, as is the sentiment. The jungle leaves are part of Stampendous' Changito the Monkey set.

This little darling works for a couple of challenges posted this week as well. Since I made it Monday, I will only post it to the 2 Monday challenges.

Unfortunately, I was in need of a Sympathy Card, so I used the Stamping 411 Sketch, and was able to put it together pretty quickly.

I used a Bloomin' Beautiful for my flower and the sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers, both sets are Stampin' Up. They work well together.

I hate making Sympathy cards, as I am sure everyone is. I hope it brings some comfort to a dear friend who lost her sister to Cancer yesterday morning.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to 2011... I am so glad last year is over, it wasn't one of my best. It started bad with my Dear Momma passing, and that cast a shadow on the entire year. I DID have a wonderful Mid-year with the graduation of my Beautiful Daughter and her acceptance to college along with scholarships. Then saying goodbye to her was hard...I just HAD to let her grow up, though I don't like it...LOL! Enough dribble~

This is my first card for the new year. I want to start digging out some of the older stamps I have, so this is a start...LOL!

I used Stampin' Up's Polka Dots & Paisley to do the entire card. No DP, I can't believe it! The sentiment is from SU Trendy Trees.

I needed a few quicky Christmas cards, for the last minute, and this was one I did. My friend, Cindy, and I wanted to do a challenge together and we picked the sketch on Just Add Ink.

When I saw the sketch, I knew I had to use this tree...I have loved this set for AGES, and finally got it, but hadn't used the tree yet. One of my FAVE color combos, year round actually, is Brown and Blue, and these just meshed so perfectly!

Fa La La Time

I have been having SO MUCH FUN making Christmas cards the past few days! I might actually get them all done in time to mail them out...LOL!This one is made using an OLD Stampin' Up set called Song In Your Heart. I think it is one of the first Christmas sets I got from SU, because I LOVE Christmas music! This little trio is colored with watercolor pencils and the aqua painter. I won some gorgeous DP from my SU Demo, so I got to use some it, and finished it off with some stickles for that little bit of sparkle. I used this weeks Sweet Stop Challenge Sketch, which was perfect for the size of my stamp. There are a couple of other Challenges out there that this card fits into. Winter Wonderland, where the theme is Sing a Christmas Carol. Another of my favorites, Paper Sundaes, has a Let it Snow challenge. And finally, Aly's Sunday Challenge, which has a theme of Music.

The Little Tilda Christmas card was made last week for a sketch challenge...sorry don't remember which one. She was also colored with Watercolor pencils and Stickles. I LOVE the DP, it is from The Linen Closet Stack by Die Cuts With A View. The entire stack is just so yummy! The Flowers are from The Wild Orchid...I have fallen in LOVE, and will HAVE to have more of them~

Well, again I have been inspired by my good friend, Cindy! I saw this gorgeous beaded snowflake on her blog a while back, and I HAD to make some! This was the second of 3, but when it came time to make a card with it, it was the first I used. I found the PERFECT colors of CS and DP, and then the sketch at Stamp Something.

Poinsetta Time

I have been DYING to try this Poinsetta Digi I got earlier this year at McMahon Five Designs.

I printed out a couple different sizes and did some watercoloring. This is the first of the two using the larger stamp. I thought the sketch at Truly Scrumptious was perfect for this image, so I went with it! It also works for the Petals part of the option....

I just LOVE the Petals A Plenty embossing folder from Stampin' Up. Doesn't it work so perfectly with the flower?

Yellow Zebra Wedding...

It has been an EVENTFUL weekend here in NW Arkansas! Saturday I got to go down to The University Of The Ozarks for Family Fiesta Weekend with my wonderful daughter! The weather was perfect, and the visit was just what Momma needed to see her baby girl in her element! Shelli LOVES it there, and I can see why. I feel MUCH better now that I have had a wonderful visit and tour of the school, as well as all the fun activities that the students and faculty worked so hard on to entertain their families! KUDOS Uof O~~

Last evening, I attended the wedding of one of my dear friend's sons'. It was so simply beautiful....

Their colors were Black, White and Yellow...thus the card! I took the colors from her invitation which was yellow with a border of black and white Zebra print and black lettering.

Very Cool! Her flowers were daisies and the wedding was held outdoors in a magnificent Ozark Mountains location. I wrapped her gift in the same color combo as you can see....it really did look neat on the gift table.

The Wedding as I said was very pretty, and the reception afterwards was a riot....so much fun...UNTIL! We were dancing and having a fabby time, and clutsy Julie fell wrong on my right foot and got a BIG BOO BOO! I have torn my Achilles Tendon and also broken some of the bone on my heel along with it! Yeah, isn't that special? The Emergency Room doctor has referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon, and I see him tomorrow. I will have to have it surgically repaired, and it will be 3 to 6 months before I am back on it. ARRGHHHH! So....I will have TONS of time to make my Christmas cards this year....heck of a way to get those done, eh? LOL

Well, it is a beautiful day here in NW Arkansas, and I actually got to participate in World Cardmaking Day! I have been slowly...emphesis on SLOW...making my Christmas cards, so I dont't have to cram them all in in the last week! This is one I have done with my new Dasher stamp from SU. Mojo on Friday

I have been wanting to do the Mojo Monday Sketch this week, so here it is! This one was FUN, I love to do layers, so it fit in perfectly with my fave style. This card also fits into a few other Challenges this week. Pile it on-which is to use Layers....got um! Paper Sundaes put out the challenge to use different mediums. Well, I have used markers, EP and watercolors on the butterfly, then glittered it, and good old ink on the leaf and sentiment. Today at Paper Cutz, the challenge is to use a tag...voila! And lastly, the Belli Challange issued a challenge to use OLD stamps sets we love! Well, I have used my ever favorite Butterfly by The Angel Company, and the leaf is by Stampin' Up....Both sets are at least 3 years old!

Back to School...

Which is exactly where I have been the past couple of weeks! I LOVE summer break, but have to admit I was getting bored. NOW I can't wait for Christmas break...LOL!

I have been doing a lot of "working" at making cards the past couple weeks, but haven't actually gotten one DONE 'til today! This one was made for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. The other night, my friend Cindy and I bought a few new Digi's, so this one was PERFECT for all the Back To School challenges out there this week , too! This was originally going to be a sketch challenge, BUT ended up just being a card for a friend. I love the DP from My Mind's Eye, so the card was kinda built around it. The greyish-blue is such a gorgeous color....I have noticed several of my cards recently are blue. Guess I need to break out another color family...LOL!

Pink for Us Girls

HAPPY MONDAY!! This is my last week of Summer...we go back to school next week! Well, my dear friend, Cindy, is at it again...giving out the challenges. Yesterday she chose this great sketch from Just Us Girls. Little did she know, I already had it on my list of things to do.... This is a super versatile sketch, and I have another card in the works using it!

I wish you could see it more clearly, but this entire card is sprayed with Shimmer Mist. We are a bit overcast today ( even though the predict 101 degrees) so the shimmer isn't especially noticeable. Some Monday Mojo

Yup, I am back again today...GASP! I am truly trying to get back into blogging on a regular basis, because I really DO love it!

This little ditty is my submission for today's Mojo Monday Challenge. I really enjoyed this one...and I can't believe I didn't stamp AT ALL!!

This is done all with DP from the DCWV Linen Closet Stack. I wanted to use the flowers in the 3rd layer SO BAD, but was having trouble finding a stamped image I liked with it, so I punched a circle from it and made it the focal point! It is hard to see in the picture, but the large flower and leaves are popped up for a little 3D look.

Here comes Christmas....

Happy last day of July! Yes I have been away from the blogging world a long time...but I hope I am back now for a while. I have missed it, and am anxious to get back into the groove of posting. I have been doing a little creating while I was gone, but have recently gotten back into doing something daily...YAY! And a BIG Thank You and I Love You to my dear friend Cindy! She has been there ALL the way with me!

This card I made for a couple of Challenges...yes, I still LOVE challenges...LOL! The first is the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge which is Christmas In July. The other blog with a Christmas In July Challenge is Stamp Something.

I have a few other Christmas cards I have made, so I will post those tomorrow or somthing. Guess I am getting in the spirit? hehehe.

Happy Father's Day!

It has been a while since my last post, and since I have done anything creative. I made this card for my Daddy for Father's day, and it fits MANY challenges this week, so I figured, I would post it.

I used a Digi from The DigiStamp Boutique called Jim Fishing. They have TONS of neat Jim Stamps PERFECT for the men in your life! I watercolored and sponged the image then cut it with my good ol' Nesties. The Dp is from My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is computer generated. Here are the Challenges this card complies with:

Farewell to May....

I have been a terrible blogger ALL YEAR! I sincerly do apologize, and have no excuse for my disappearance. You all know I lost my Mom in January, and quite honestly, I have had LITTLE TO NO drive to create since. My wonderful friend, Cindy, has been really encouraging me to get back into the cardmaking, and with her love and gentle prodding ( hahaha) I have been creating some!

Thie first card is one I made using one of my favorite cupcake stamps made by Inkadinkado. I used my fave DP from SU, and it all just fell together wonderfully. I gave this one to one of the little girls at my school, and she was SO PROUD that Miss Julie had made it just for her. She showed the entire school...LOL! Needless to say, every child in the school has told me when their birthday is...I have a mile long list, and MANY birthday cards to create. Guess the little ones appreciate handmade things - how cool is that?

This next card is one I made with one of my FAVORITE new SU sets called Vintage Vogue. I never thought that I would like something called VINTAGE anything, but this set is beautiful and SO versatile!! I have made several cards with this set, some of which I have no pictures, but many that I do, so you will see those sometime, I promise. I used Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. It is simple yet elegant...

Well, this is it for now. I hope to be back very soon with more creations. I think I will go check out the challenges for this week. Have a Wonderful week~
